Bull Run TCG

How do I organize my collection by binder and box?

Give each binder, box and shelf its own place, then put every card in one of them, either as you add it or in a batch later. Bull Run lets you set up binders with pages and pockets and boxes with rows and dividers, so each card page shows exactly where that copy lives and a pull list can walk you to it.

Choose a home for each kind of card

Most collectors end up with a few kinds of storage, each with its own job:

  • Binders for cards you want to see: favourites, a set you are completing, or a trade binder to bring to card nights.
  • Boxes for bulk, commons and cards you rarely look at.
  • Slab cases for graded cards.
  • A shelf or room to hold the binders and boxes.

Binders: pages and pockets

The standard binder page holds 9 cards (3 by 3). Larger binders often use 12-pocket pages (3 by 4) and mini binders use 4-pocket pages (2 by 2). Decide early whether you fill both sides of each sheet or only one side, because it changes how page numbers line up.

Sorting a binder by set and card number makes gaps easy to spot. If you are completing a set, leaving an empty pocket for each missing card shows at a glance what you still need.

Boxes: rows and dividers

Card boxes come with one row or several. Dividers keep a box usable once it fills up: split by game (Pokémon and Magic), by set, or alphabetically (A to M and N to Z).

How Bull Run does it

  1. Open the Collection tab, choose By Storage on Holdings, then tap Manage places. With no places yet, the app asks "Where do you keep your cards?" and offers Binder, Box and Shelf or room to start.
  2. Name the place and pick its kind: binder, box, slab case, display, shelf or room, or other. "Kept in" lets you put a binder or box on a shelf or in a room, so places can nest, for example Bookshelf / Bottom shelf / MTG box.
  3. For a binder, turn on Track pages & pockets and pick the page type (9, 12 or 4 pockets, or your own number), how many pages, and whether cards go on both sides of each sheet. For a box, pick how many rows it has and name any sections or dividers.
  4. Put cards in: use Move to… on a card page or after selecting several cards, the Put in row when you add a card, or switch on Store in a place while scanning. A binder photographed with binder page scanning drops each card into the pocket it was in.
  5. Tap Sort unassigned cards on the Storage screen to go through cards that have no place yet, one at a time, with one-tap suggestions.

A binder with pockets opens as pages you can swipe through. Press and hold a card to drag it to another pocket (dropping it on a filled pocket swaps the two). Fill in order places loose cards into the next empty pockets, and Move re-orders whole sheets.

To find a card later, its card page says where each copy is (for example "Red Binder · page 4 · pocket 7"), the collection Filter has a Storage section, and the Queue's pull list sorts the cards you want in walking order, place by place, page by page.

Which plan includes it?

Free: storage places are fully included: binders, boxes, pages and pockets, sorting unassigned cards and pull lists. Pro and Premium: the same, plus more binder page scans each day. Free includes 5 Quality scans or binder pages a day to try them; Pro gives more and Premium the most.

Paid plans are not on sale yet. Any free account can try Pro free for 14 days, with no card needed, and it drops back to Free by itself.

More questions

What happens to my cards if I delete a binder?

They stay in your collection. Deleting a place only marks its cards as Unassigned, so you can move them somewhere else later.

Can two cards share one pocket?

No. The app refuses to put a card in a pocket that already holds one, tells you which card is in the way, and offers to use the next free pockets instead.

Can I scan cards straight into a binder?

Yes. Turn on Store in a place in the scan tray and pick the binder. With pockets switched on, cards can fill the next pockets in order, and binder page photos fill a whole page at once.

Does a deck count as a place?

Only if you turn on I built this deck on the deck's page. Then its cards move into the deck as a place, and turning it off makes them Unassigned again.
